Hong Kong delegates to the country’s top legislature and its top political advisory body said on Thursday that the just-concluded two sessions yielded fruitful outcomes and pointed the way to Hong Kong’s future development.
The delegates, all members of the Democratic Alliance for the Betterment and Progress of Hong Kong, the city’s largest political party, encouraged Hong Kong residents to better understand central authorities’ work reports and the speeches of State leaders to better understand major national strategies and to seek development opportunities.

At a two sessions sharing activity held by the DAB on Thursday, Starry Lee Wai-king, Hong Kong’s newly elected deputy to the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress, said the nine-day NPC session achieved many results under deputies’ efficient works, which pointed the direction for the country and Hong Kong’s future path.
Lee suggests that members of the Hong Kong community actively study the work reports of the central government, the Supreme People’s Court and the Supreme People’s Procuratorate, as doing so could help them better seize the two sessions’ essence and understand national affairs.
Speaking at the same event, Hong Kong NPC deputy Brave Chan Yung said the State leaders expressed high expectations for Hong Kong’s role in the nation’s development, injecting new momentum into the city’s future development.
Clement Lui Kin, a new face on the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, said the work reports on the court and the procuratorate underscored the need to safeguard national security and counter illegal foreign sanctions and intervention.

Liu said that as a lawyer, he believes Hong Kong’s legal sector should strengthen understanding of the country’s legal affairs and actively think about how to safeguard national interests in the legal sector.
