HONG KONG – Hong Kong reported six additional COVID-19 cases on Sunday, including four imported infections, bringing the city’s tally to 11,736.

In a statement, the Centre for Health Protection of the Department of Health said that the two local infections, both from Block 4, La Cite Noble, Tseung Kwan O, were linked to previous cases.

The imported cases involved three travelers from Indonesia and one from the Philippines, it added. 

The CHP said that a total of 162 cases were recorded in the past 14 days (April 11 to 24), including 37 local cases, of which 17 were from unknown sources.

The CHP added that it epidemiological investigations and relevant contact tracing on the confirmed cases were ongoing. 

It called on members of the public to avoid going out, having social contact and dining out.  

 "The CHP also strongly urges the public to maintain at all times strict personal and environmental hygiene, which is key to personal protection against infection and prevention of the spread of the disease in the community,” a CHP spokesperson was quoted as saying in the statement.

“On a personal level, members of the public should wear a surgical mask when having respiratory symptoms, taking public transport or staying in crowded places. They should also perform hand hygiene frequently, especially before touching the mouth, nose or eyes,” the spokesperson added.
