HONG KONG – The volume of Hong Kong’s total goods exports rose by 26.1 percent year-on-year in June, according to data released by the city’s Census and Statistics Department on Thursday.

The volume of goods imports for the month increased 25.6 percent compared to the same period last year.

Prices of goods exports also rose 5.3 percent year-on-year for June, according to the Census and Statistics Department

Prices of goods exports and imports also rose 5.3 percent and 5.2 percent year-on-year for the month.

On a seasonally adjusted basis, the volume of goods exports decreased 5.5 percent in the second quarter compared with the preceding quarter, while the volume of goods imports also went down by 1.4 percent, according to the data.

Comparing the first half of the year with the same period in 2020, the volume of goods exports rose 26.2 percent, while that of goods imports increased 23.3 percent.

The prices of goods exports for the period went up 3.0 percent, while that of goods imports also rose 2.9 percent.
