HONG KONG – Hong Kong reported 13 new COVID-19 cases on Sunday, including two local infections, bringing the city’s tally to 11,581.

In a statement issued on Sunday afternoon, the Center for Health Protection said the two local cases were linked to previous infections.

The two patients live in Oi Fai House at Yao Oi Estate in Tuen Mun, where six other people were previously infected with the virus.

One of the patients, a 71-year-old man, began showing symptoms on April 7 while the other patient, a 63-year-old woman, had no symptoms.

The imported cases included six from India, two each from Pakistan and Indonesia, and one from Bangladesh, the CHP said.    

It said a total of 123 cases were recorded in the past 14 days (March 28 to April 10), including 25 local cases, of which 10 were untraceable.

The CHP added that its epidemiological investigations and relevant contact tracing on the confirmed cases were ongoing.
