HONG KONG – Hong Kong rang in another COVID-19-tainted Christmas on Saturday with a 20-meter-tall giant Christmas tree, enchanting light displays, a winter festival, and more.

This year, residents got into the holiday spirit despite the pandemic, as the financial hub remained one of the only places in the world to have thus far avoided a Delta or Omicron outbreak. 

Among the most popular celebration spots this year was the West Kowloon Cultural District, which has been transformed into Christmas Town as part of Hong Kong WinterFest

Lee Tung Avenue in Wan Chai, meanwhile, has turned into a Christmas wonderland. Enthusiastic crowds strolled under the enchanting light displays and took pictures around the glimmering Christmas tree.

Tai Kwun, the former central police station compound in the Central district, has organized a series of festive programs.
