HONG KONG – Hong Kong residents on Monday night celebrated the victory of Olympian fencer Cheung Ka-long, who won the gold medal in the Men's Foil Individual competition at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

This is the first medal for Hong Kong athletes at the Tokyo Games, the first fencing medal in the Olympic Games in Hong Kong's history, and the first Olympic gold medal after the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. It is also the city's second Olympic gold medal after Lee Lai-shan's windsurfing gold at the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games.
